Why Psych Residency exists

Every psychology graduate remembers their first client.

You know the theories. You've read the textbooks. You've passed the exams. Then someone sits across from you with pain, uncertainty and hope — and the room goes very quiet.

Universities teach psychology.
Clients teach uncertainty.

Psych Residency was built to bridge that gap — through guided supervision, reflective practice and experiential learning that shape not just knowledge, but confidence, judgement and a strong therapist identity.

"What if they cry?"
"Am I helping?"
"What do I say?"
"Is this normal?"

The learning journey

Eight weeks. One transformation.

A carefully sequenced path — from clarifying your identity as a therapist to walking into sessions with confidence.

Build a strong professional identity by exploring your fears, expectations, and the difference between helping and rescuing. Learn to bring authenticity, presence, and confidence into the therapy room.

Learn how to make clients feel heard, understood, and safe from the moment they walk in. Practise opening sessions, building rapport, and setting the foundation for a strong therapeutic alliance.

Move from collecting information to understanding patterns. Learn to make sense of clients' stories through meaningful clinical formulation rather than isolated symptoms.

Develop clinical confidence in working with common mental health concerns while learning how to stay present, compassionate, and grounded during emotionally difficult conversations.

Navigate confidentiality, boundaries, dual relationships, and scope of competence through realistic clinical scenarios so ethical practice becomes intuitive rather than intimidating.

Understand how to match therapeutic interventions to client needs, structure sessions effectively, and document your work with clarity and professionalism.

Recognise countertransference, rescue impulses, self-doubt, and burnout before they impact your work. Develop reflective habits that support sustainable and ethical practice.

Integrate everything you've learned through simulated sessions, structured feedback, and self-reflection. Leave with greater confidence, a personalised development plan, and a clearer sense of the therapist you're becoming.

Live Programme FAQ

Everything about the live sessions.

Quick answers to help you decide if the cohort rhythm fits your schedule.

The next cohort begins on 3 September 2026 at 7:00 PM IST. Live sessions run weekly at the same time, giving you a consistent rhythm for practice and reflection.

Sessions are hosted on a secure video-conferencing platform. You will receive the meeting link and calendar invite after your seat is confirmed.

Each session runs approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, including brief teaching, demonstrations, role play, case discussion, and live feedback.

We strongly encourage live attendance for the richest learning experience. Select recordings may be shared for a short window with participants who miss a session due to illness or emergencies.

You can catch up through supplementary worksheets, peer practice pods, and facilitator summaries. Facilitators are also available to answer brief questions between sessions.

Psych Residency is designed for Indian early-career psychologists and psychology graduates, and is conducted in English with clinical context relevant to Indian practice.

Why early-career therapists choose us

Clinical confidence isn't built through lectures alone.

It develops through guided practice, reflection, and meaningful supervision. That's exactly how Psych Residency has been designed.

Led by Practising Clinicians

Learn from experienced psychologists who continue to work with clients and supervise therapists in real-world clinical settings. Every session is grounded in the realities of contemporary practice — not just theory.

Evidence-Informed Supervision

Our approach draws on internationally recognised principles of competency-based supervision, reflective practice, experiential learning, and adult learning — helping you develop judgement, not just knowledge.

Manageable Cohorts. Personalised Learning.

We intentionally limit cohort sizes so every participant has space to ask questions, receive feedback, practise skills, and reflect in a psychologically safe environment.

Learn by Doing

Each session combines brief teaching with demonstrations, role plays, case discussions, guided reflection, and live supervision. Less note-taking. More practising.

A Safe Space to Grow

We believe therapists develop best in environments built on curiosity, humility, and compassion — not judgment or performance pressure. Questions are welcomed. Uncertainty is expected.

A Community of Emerging Therapists

Join a network of like-minded psychologists committed to ethical practice, continuous learning, and supporting one another throughout their professional journey.

Practical toolkit

Resources you'll continue using.

Every participant receives a toolkit designed for everyday clinical practice — templates, frameworks, and worksheets that go with you long after the programme ends.
